This piece involved a new technique I had yet to use. I began by coming up with a design in a CAD software and I came up with this.
I began by cutting to size and cleaning up the base piece of Red Oak, which is 7x3.75x0.375 inches. I then cut to size the main beam that holds the bracelets. After that I cut to size the leg of the main beam and added a 15 degree angle on the bottom. Now this is where it gets tricky. I had to make a cut into the leg that would hold the beam, I did this by clamping the piece down to my drill press and using a spade bit (not the best bit to use in this situation) I drilled a hold perpendicular to the angle that was cut at the bottom. This allowed me to glue the beam to the leg, and then the leg to the base.
Finally, I was able to sand the piece and add an oil finish.
